Cold transfer for narrow web-fed rotary presses
CTWB grade is a cold transfer product recommended for applications such as self-adhesive labels and shrink sleeves, especially where over-printability is a key requirement.
Key Features
CTWB is highly recommended for over-printing with UV inks and coatings with its receptive surface providing excellent adhesion properties and the opportunity to create a wide spectrum of multi-coloured metallic effects. Performance characteristics include good fine detail, solid area coverage and brightness.
Key specifications for cold transfer
Machine: Designed for use on narrow web-fed rotary printing presses equipped with a cold transfer module. Suppliers include Gallus, Nilpeter, Bobst, MPS, Mark Andy, Omet, Edale, Focus, AB Graphics, Gidue and Rotatek.
Adhesive: Good adhesion onto many UV curing cold transfer adhesives, typically printed by flexo or offset. Suppliers include Flint, INX, Jänecke + Schneemann, Paragon, Sun Chemical, Zeller + Gmelin and Huber Group.
Inks: Allows good adhesion of UV curing inks and coatings. Contact suppliers of cold transfer adhesives, inks and coatings for recommendations and further information or contact the Customer Service Team at API Transfer Technologies.
Substrates
Plastic films and self-adhesive label stock, including polypropylene and polyethylene. Also coated and non-absorbent papers. The suitability of the substrate for cold transfer needs to be tested by the customer.
Formats
Longer reel lengths are possible. Various roll sizes available – please inquire!

Storage
Foils should not be stored or transported in direct sunlight, and should avoid extremes of heat and humidity, as well as condensation and undue pressure on the roll. Under ideal storage conditions of 5-25°C and 30-60% relative humidity, a storage life of 12 months should be possible.
