Cold transfer product for sheet-fed offset presses
CTSB is a cold transfer product designed for use in combination with offset adhesives and inks for applications such as commercial print, label print and luxury packaging.
Key Features
The CTSB grade is a free releasing transfer product with good adhesion onto offset cold transfer adhesives, both UV curing and conventional drying. It has a very receptive surface facilitating in-line or off-line over-printing with UV curing and conventional drying offset inks, so providing the opportunity to create a wide spectrum of eye-catching, multi-coloured metallic effects. Good fine detail, solid area coverage and high brilliance or gloss.
Key specifications for cold transfer
Machine: Designed for use on sheet-fed offset presses equipped with a cold transfer module. Suppliers include Heidelberg, manroland, Compact Foilers, Eagle Systems, Foiltone and Vinfoil.
Adhesive: Good adhesion onto many UV curing and conventional drying cold transfer adhesives. Suppliers include Zeller + Gmelin, Jänecke + Schneemann, Huber, Flint, INX, and Toyo, as well as Heidelberg and manroland. Optimized application quantity: 1.2-2.2 g/m².
Inks: Allows good adhesion of UV curing and conventional drying inks and coatings. Contact suppliers of cold transfer adhesives, inks and coatings for recommendations and further information or contact the Customer Service Team at API Transfer Technologies.
Substrates
Coated papers and boards as well as recycled stocks and structured label papers. Suitability of the substrate for cold transfer should be confirmed by the customer.
Formats
Maximum roll length: 20,000m. Various roll sizes available – please inquire!

Storage
The product should not be stored or transported in direct sunlight, and should avoid extremes of heat and humidity, as well as condensation and undue pressure on the roll. Under ideal storage conditions of 5-25°C and 30-60% relative humidity, a storage life of 12 months should be possible.
